First Time Shooting Real Guns at Colonial Shooting Academy in Virginia Beach | vlog 40

In this vlog, I share my first-time experience shooting real guns at the Colonial Shooting Academy in Virginia Beach. The Colonial Shooting Academy is rated five stars and is the largest indoor shooting range in the US. It is a beautiful and thoughtfully designed range that provides an enjoyable shooting experience. I shot with both guns and my GoPro Hero Session, and although I sucked at shooting the handgun, I found my calling as a sniper with a Wooden Carbine.

The Colonial Shooting Academy provides a comprehensive safety briefing that covers all the rules and regulations you need to follow while using the range. All firearms must be cased and unloaded when entering the store or range, and you should always treat all firearms as if they are loaded. Open carry is prohibited, and anyone displaying unsafe actions will be warned to correct their behavior and/or be asked to leave. The range also has specific ammunition and firearm requirements that you need to be aware of before shooting.

The range also has several restrictions that you need to adhere to. All persons must successfully complete the Range Safety & Etiquette briefing and present a valid government picture ID and a complete Range Use Agreement/Waiver before using the firing ranges. Minors under the age of 18 must be always accompanied while in the facility by a parent or guardian. Children must be at least 10 years old to shoot a firearm. Pregnant women and service animals are not allowed on the shooting ranges, and outside instruction is strictly prohibited.

During shooting, approved safety glasses and ear protection are mandatory before entering the range. Minors must use both earmuffs and plugs. A Range Safety Officer (RSO) must be always present on the range. If a cease-fire is called, take your finger off the trigger, keep the gun pointed downrange, and wait for further direction from the RSO. Only one firearm is allowed on the bench at a time, and you should not pass any firearms from one lane to another.
