1:1 Baluns. Myths, Facts and Fiction. How to build Ugly Baluns, Air Wound or Ferrite Chokes?

There's a lot of Myths surrounding the whole "Balun" world. Used as a choke, they are not really a balun. But how effective is an Ugly Balun. In some rare cases, they may work but Steve G3TXQ has made an excellent analysis and has some concerns about us generally using them willy-nilly.
