What's An Ugly Choke?

I had one of my Yaesu FT857's shut down when running over 30W on HF SSB. It was perfect into a dummy load happily producing 100W without any problems whatsoever. The problem turned out to be RF coming back into the shack via the coax feeder braid. The 'Ugly Choke' sorted the problem out. Why my other FT857 and my FT450 were unaffected by this is still a mystery. As you can see the Ugly Choke can be installed without cutting the coaxial feeder, and requires no additional connectors to be fitted.
