Disruption & Trust I (Stefan Oschmann) | DLD Munich 20
Speakers:
Stefan Oschmann, Chairman of the Executive Board & CEO, Merck KGaA
Merck CEO Stefan Oschmann analyzes the resurgent sense of techno-pessimism as well as the immense potential of disruptive technologies, particularly the data storage capacity of the human genome. “How do we make sure that future technology is hardwired for human progress?”, he asks. “In my view, we’ll have to tackle three important challenges: efficiency, ethics and collaboration.”
Technological progress inevitably brings disruption. However, “leaving the opportunities untapped would be the greatest risk of all”, Oschmann argues. He closes his talk with the appeal to “innovate boldly”, “act responsibly” and “actively take part in societal debate”.
More than 200 speakers and 1300 attendees touched base at #DLD20. For the 16th time, “Europe‘s hottest conference” brought together the most influential opinion-makers, industry leaders, start-ups, and digital giants in Munich, on January 18-20, 2020.
The DLD Conference channel features all talks held at past conferences and our digital format DLD Sync as well as the highlights of our events.
