Black body Radiation | Ultraviolet catastrophe | Part 1
A Blackbody is an idealised object which absorbs and emits Electromagnetic light of all frequencies. The Ultraviolet catastrophe is the error at short wavelenghts or large frequencies in the Rayleigh-Jeans law for the energy emitted by an ideal black body. This error was a result of the efficiency of the laws of classical physics and directly led to the development of the theory of "Quantised states" by Max Planck in the 1900s.
