Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology Full Tour | Dinosaur Museum in Drumheller Alberta【4K】
Welcome to the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, Alberta.
The museum is named after Joseph Burr Tyrrell, a 26-year old geologist who while working for the Geological Survey of Canada stumbled upon an impressive skull of Canada’s first known meat-eating dinosaur not far from where the museum now stands.
The museum officially opened to the public on September 25, 1985.
It is the only museum in Canada devoted exclusively to the science of paleontology, and has one of the biggest displays of dinosaur skeletons in the world.
It is home to more than 160,000 individual specimens, over 300 of which are holotypes (an individual plant or animal that serves as the basis for the description of a species).
This is a stunning must see museum for anyone that loves and has an interest in dinosaurs, paleontology and anything related to the earths prehistoric past.
This needs to be on your must see travel list if you visit Alberta.
