Advanced Level - Fingerstyle Study #2

This challenging study piece was written as a resource for working on up-tempo fingerstyle funk grooves similar to those played by bassists such as Jaco Pastorius and Rocco Prestia. In addition to these complex fingerstyle lines, the piece also includes unison sections and chordal parts.

I performed the line using a Mayones Viking bass strung with Rotosound strings, gauges .040, .060, .080, .100. The tone controls were initially set flat, then the midrange was boosted slightly. I also favoured the bridge pickup. The bass was recorded via a SansAmp Bass Driver DI.
