In this video, we’ll show you how to reserve a static IP address in UniFi Network using the UniFi Controller — perfect for devices like the Dream Router, Gateway Express, or Dream Machine.

You’ll learn how to:
🔹 Reserve IPs for servers, printers, and other key devices
🔹 Set up local DNS overrides for name resolution
🔹 Add devices manually using their MAC address
🔹 Understand why a reboot is needed for new IPs to take effect

⚠️ Note: This tutorial only applies if you’re using a UniFi router (not just a Cloud Key). If you’re using a third-party router, this process won’t apply.
