In his new book, “The Long Game: A Memoir” (Sentinel, May 2016), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) gives a candid, behind-the-scenes look at his more than three decades of public service in the US Senate and how he learned patience and fortitude during his postwar youth in Alabama.

The memoir outlines how he worked steadily to advance conservative values of limited government, free speech, individual liberty, fiscal prudence, and strong national defense. He discusses his ongoing efforts to restore the US Senate’s dual role as a brake on excess and a tool for national consensus.

At this AEI event, The Daily Caller’s Matt Lewis will interview Senate Majority Leader McConnell, with opening remarks from AEI’s Arthur C. Brooks. Books will be available for sale at the event, and a book signing will follow.
