Dog Training: Putting Toys Away (Step 1 - Holding toy)

Step 1 in training my dog to put her toy away! Its going to be awhile but we are half way there!! This is actually my 7th or 8th attempt in training her as initially when I tried this type of trick, it did not work and did not end well. It was my fault because I had forgotten that I was using a command that was already used. I am not a dog trainer and this is my first dog so I have a lot to learn but from training other things with her, she is very smart dog and catches on really quickly. Which is another reason why I was frustrated and didn't understand why she didn't get the "Hold" the toy command until I realized I was confusing her. She would literally turn away from the toy! Once I figured that out, it was a breeze and Snowy understood. I will continue to work on this with her until we go to the next step which is having her pick up the toy herself and putting it down on command.
