The Push Press: Points of Performance
The Push Press is a compound exercise that targets multiple muscle groups, primarily the shoulders, triceps, and upper back. It is similar to the overhead press, but with the added assistance of a slight knee bend to generate momentum. To perform the Push Press, start with the barbell on your shoulders and your feet shoulder-width apart. Begin by dipping down slightly, then drive up explosively with your legs while simultaneously pressing the barbell overhead. Lower the barbell slowly back to your shoulders, and repeat for the desired number of repetitions. The Push Press is a great exercise for building upper body strength and power.
