The Deadlift: Points of Performance
The deadlift is a weightlifting exercise that targets multiple muscle groups, including the back, legs, and core. To perform a deadlift, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and grip a barbell with both hands. Keep your back straight and engage your core as you lift the barbell off the ground, using your legs to power the movement. As you lift, focus on squeezing your glutes and shoulder blades together to maintain proper form. Once the barbell is at hip height, slowly lower it back down to the ground, keeping your back straight and avoiding any jerky movements. The deadlift is a great exercise for building strength and improving overall fitness.
