ASWAN Something you didn’t know - BOAT TRIP Beyond Elephantine Island

Among all the cultures and cities you can visit in Egypt, Aswan has always taken a special interest in my mind, I would even go to say it is the most underrated city in these magical ancient lands. Surely from time to time it can be busy, chaotic and not to mention blazing hot! How fast that all can change though once you're on a boat, Smoothly and effortlessly making your way down the banks of the Nile, the same way the Pharaohs did it centuries ago. Cruising by islands filled with pink rocks and boulders, farmers plowing and resting on their lands, birds from all over the world migrating and having a break on the banks of the river.

We will navigate through the Nile passing in front of the Aga Khan III masolueum, the botanical garden of Aswan, and then' we ll face the cataract to reach the dandy and hippie cafes and bars in the southern islands

Elephantine Island in the Nile is an oasis of tranquility. There is no traffic, the view of the river is beautiful and the residents are the nicest people in Egypt. Elephantine Island is the perfect place to base yourself when visiting Aswan.

The island can of course only be reached by boat. You can catch a boat from almost anywhere on the Aswan quay, but the public ferry is the cheapest. There is one to the village of Siou and one to the ruins on the southern tip of the island.
