Ride on San Francisco Cable Cars, including Machine Room (or wheel house as its called)

Thought i'd take a break from my usual elevator vids to bring you something different (although this has a machine room and cables, so its sort of like an elevator?). If you haven't been to San Francisco, this is definitely one of the things you should do if you ever get to go. This is filmed on two different lines with the wheel house in the middle basically. The cable cars are powered by GE 500hp DC motors, installed in the mid 1980's. Used to be steam powered, and way back where the far wheels are is where the boilers used to be. Also a quick view underneath the street showing how the cables are routed to the different tracks. Really cool!
