Opening of ÆDNA-Nottingham Uni's Ancient DNA Facility - next to the NCMH, home to the Creeth model
Official opening of the new Facility in the Limes Building by Pro VC Prof Zoe Wilson and ÆDNA Director Andrew Clarke, 1.30pm, 23rd June 2022.
The Limes Building at the University's Sutton Bonington campus contains also the National Centre for Macromolecular Hydrodynamics and the Nottingham Arabidopsis Centre.
Nottingham is also where hydrogen bonds in DNA - the molecular glue holding DNA together - was discovered in 1947 by Creeth, Gulland and Jordan, and the NCMH labs just down the corridor house the Creeth model for DNA - quite similar to the Watson-Crick structure
