Giant Cicada Killing Wasps

Cicada Killing Wasps are giant wasps that often scare homeowners due to their giant and menacing appearance. Although large in size, these wasps are pretty beneficial and generally harmless unless provoked.
Cicada Wasps hunt cicadas and take them back into their holes in the ground that they make. These holes are often noticed as large amounts of soil being excavated in the lawn. Once the paralyzed cicada is brought into the hole, an egg is laid on top of it. Once the egg hatches into a cicada wasp larva, the larva will feed on the still alive and paralyzed cicada.
