Exploring Kentucky. Abraham Lincoln Birthplace & Boyhood Homes, Dr. Thomas Walker 1st House, & More

This video includes sites we visited as part of a 13 Day 4650 mile cross country road trip we took in May-June 2022. These visits were on June 1 & 3, 2022.

After leaving Cumberland Gap we traveled North toward the Red River Gorge. On our way we saw signs for Dr. Thomas Walker 1st house in Kentucky. We decided to check it out. It was a State Park that talked about the significance of Dr. Thomas Walker and its correlation to the Cumberland Gap. While there the caretaker of the State Park told us about a diner in Booneville that was a "must stop" for lunch if we were headed through there. We decided to check out the Old Bus Stop Diner where we had a good lunch and the most delicious dessert that I have had in a really long time. It was a honey bun pie that was made homemade by the owner of the Old Bus Stop Diner. It was fantastic. After visiting the Red River Gorge (several separate videos) we continued on the Lincoln Memorial Highway. We visited the Abraham Lincoln Knob Creek Farm, boyhood home, and his birthplace. These were interesting historical landmarks and it was great to see the preserved structures from back then. Impressive. Enjoy!
