Quickest way for me to raise my HRV

Heart rate variability ❤️🧠
HRV is a measure in the variation in time between each heartbeat.
And it is a direct reflection of the autonomic nervous system.
When we were interested in measuring this more objectively for our patients a few years, I wanted to try it out for myself first.
And wow, an eye opener for me!
Things that made my HRV lower
- Hard phone calls and meetings. I found myself holding my breath.
- Not sleeping well
- Working too much and not resting enough
But it was also so clear where or why it improved
- Breathwork and yoga
- Regular exercise
- Getting outside (immediate jump in HRV)
I got to spend this week in my happy place for my autonomic nervous system—outside camping. Where probably 90% of the day I am outside. My HRV is in a great place (even when I might not sleep well—thanks to my dogs keeping us up at night)
