ECA: An Educational credential assessment (ECA) is used to verify that your foreign degree, diploma, or certificate (or other proof of your credential) is valid and equal to a Canadian one. There are different types of ECAs.

WES : helps international students and professionals to succeed in Canada. WES provides verification and evaluations of academic credentials. Website: www.wes.org

ICAS: International Credential Assessment Service of Canada [ICAS] serves as an agency designated by the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to provide credential assessment services to person applying for Immigration to Canada for higher studies. Website:www.icascanada.ca

IQAS: International Qualifications Assessment Service. IQAS issues certificates that compare educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada. Website: www.alberta.ca

MCC: Medical Council of Canada is an organization charged with the assessment of medical candidates and evaluation of physicians through examinations. It grants a qualification called Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada to those who wish to practise medicine in Canada. Website:www.mcc.ca

PEBC: Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada - PEBC
PEBC is the national certification body for the profession of pharmacy in Canada. This website is the official source for information regarding the PEBC certification process for pharmacists and pharmacy technician. The current cost of taking the PEBC Exam is as follows: $665 CAD - document evaluation (for foreign pharmacists) $850 CAD - for the Evaluating exam (for foreign pharmacists) taken in Canada. Assessment timeframe is 8 weeks.

Your ECA report will be valid for immigration purposes for five years from the time it is issued. Please see the IRCC website: www.canada.ca for guidelines on how to submit an ECA report to an IRCC program. You can request a new ECA report, if needed, four years following your original report date.
