Quick Tofu & Veggies In Hot Garlic Sauce
Tofu & Veggies in Hot Garlic Sauce
Cuisine: Chinese
Servings- 5 bowls
FIRST LETS KEEP ALL THE INGREDIENTS READY
don’t over-steam them.
-CUT VEGETABLES INTO UNIFORM SIZES (CUBES)
-4-5 baby corns
-10 green beans
-3 carrots
-1/2 red bell pepper
-1/2 yellow bell pepper
-1/2 green capsicum
-1 onion petals
-Set aside
-349g Firm Tofu Pan fry and set aside
FINELY CHOPPED
10-15 Garlic finely chopped
5- Thai red chilies finely chopped
1- green onions chopped
-Set aside
MAKE CORNFLOUR SLURRY
-For more gravy
-3 tbsp cornstarch power or potato starch powder
1-1/2 glass Water
-mix cornflour in cold water in a bowl to form a thick slurry
- set aside
-COMBINE ALL SAUCE IN ONE BOWL
-2 tbsp light soy
-2 tbsp dark soy
-2 tbsp oyster sauce
-1 tbsp hot & sweet sauce
-2 tbsp tomato ketchup
-1 tsp brown sugar or jaggery
-1 tsp vinegar
-1/2 black pepper
-2 tsp chili flakes
-small piece chicken or veg stock
-1/2 tbsp sesame oil
-2 tbsp basic oil
-Salt to taste
Set aside
(STEP -1)
LETS MAKE BROWN SAUCE
-Mix all ingredients into a bowl stir or whisk and set aside
-Heat heat oil add finely chopped Thai red chilies & garlic sauté them until fragrant & slightly garlic turns brown
-Now, mixed soy sauce pour this mixture into the pan stir fry with a
garlic bring it to a boil (2 minutes)
-Whisk the cornstarch slurry pour this into the soy brown sauce mixture stirring continuously, let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened
-(STEP-2)
-Steam baby corn, green beans & carrot until cooked 2-3 minutes (means-yet tender-still have a bit of crunch to them also.do not over steam them)
-Set them aside
-In another Non-Stick pan add 1 oil and 1 sesame oil toss yellow & red bell peppers & green capsicum for 2 minutes and add steams veggies and toss for another 2-3 minutes
-Add these tossed veggies into brown sauce stir well and garnish with green onions
-You can use this Hot Garlic brown Sauce
-Toss the sauce with your choice of veggies/meat/Sea food/ paneer, tofu or as a dip for fried dumplings
(Veggies like bok Choy, mushroom,)
-Enjoy with white rice or noodles.
(Note- for dry gravy just reduce all measurements onto half)
