What I learned from DO THE RIGHT THING is that it should've been titled, "The death of Radio Rahim". Doing the right thing implies there's a standard or social contract that all abide by. But are we talking ethically morally? A classic Spike Lee Joint, of heat and hostility. So what's the right thing? Martin or Malcolm's approach? Let's Check It Out together!
BTW,....Did any of our characters DTRT? Mookie, Sal, Pino, Nino, Smiley, Da Mayor, Radio Rahim, or The Cops. What was Smiley's message? Ending with a shot of 2 of our slain Kings shaking and holding hands. Maybe the dichotomy of being an African in America requires you to both choose wisely and Do The Right Thing! ✌
