Ruby Schillace Memorial Service 11-19-21

Ruby O. Schillace, was born in Green Park, Clarendon, Jamaica on March 16, 1928 to Albert and Annie Henry.
Agraduate of Bethlehem Teachers College in Jamaica, she taught at many grade levels in the school system there.

She migrated to the US to further her educational opportunities. An alumni of Howard University where she received her first degree, subsequently, she obtained two Masters at both Hunter College and NYU in New York City.

An educator in the New York City School system, she was also a guidance counselor. Ruby met and married the love of her life, John, also a teacher.

They moved to Port St. Lucie in 1983 after John's retirement. Always looking for a challenge, she pursued a career in real estate while enjoying life to the fullest. Among her hobbies which she immensely enjoyed were traveling, painting and music. As a member of First Congregational Church in Port St. Lucie she served on the choir and trustee ministries.

A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. Ruby always thought about the needs of others and impressed on them to do like wise.

Ruby was predeceased in death by her husband of 30 years, John and nine of her siblings.

Survived by daughter Emily, son-in-law Brendan, two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Sisters Hazel Blackstock, Joy Bernard, Monica Franklin, Joan Henry and brother Jeffrey Henry and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
