In this video, we continue to put more focus on the railroad of the mid-west. Union Pacific GTELs were a series of gas turbine-electric locomotives built by Alco-GE and General Electric between 1952-1961 and operated by the Union Pacific Railroad from 1952 to 1970. It was the largest fleet of gas turbine-electric locomotives (GTELs) of any railroad in the world. In this video, we also tested the gigantic 7000hp UP Coal Turbine experimental engine, the UP 8080! Contestants of the "Steam Team" are the legendary steam locomotive of Union Pacific, the FEF (4-8-4) and Big Boy👍🏼.
