UK Citizenship Ceremony (WHAT TO EXPECT AND MY EXPERIENCE) // Want to know what to know the process and what to expect during your UK Citizenship Ceremony? In this video, I will run through all my experience of getting my citizenship certificate and becoming a British citizen. This video will be the fourth in the miniseries running through my experience getting UK citizenship step by step.

Disclaimer, I'm not an immigration lawyer or an immigration advisor. All the information in this article is based on my circumstances and you will need to tailor it to your information.

The process is also referred to as naturalisation UK. The naturalisation UK fee is currently £1,330 + £19.20 for biometric. The naturalisation UK processing time can take up to 6 months, however, mine only took 16 days from my biometric appointment.

When you telephone about British citizenship ceremony booking, the local authority may ask you the following questions:
• Do you want a group or individual ceremony?
• How many guests would you like to bring?
• Do you intend to make an Oath or an Affirmation of allegiance?
• (If you are attending a ceremony in Wales)
• Do you intend to make the Oath (or Affirmation) and Pledge in Welsh or in English?
• Are you happy to shake hands when you receive your certificate?

Oath of allegiance (British citizenship ceremony oath)
I, (name), swear by Almighty God that, on becoming a British citizen, I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors, according to law.

Affirmation of allegiance (British citizenship ceremony affirmation)
I (name) do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm that on becoming a British Citizen, I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, her Heirs and Successors, according to law.

Pledge (UK citizenship ceremony pledge)
I will give my loyalty to the United Kingdom and respect its rights and freedoms. I will uphold its democratic values. I will observe its laws faithfully and fulfil my duties and obligations as a British citizen.
