Hurricane Ida could make landfall in Louisiana as a category 4 storm

Hurricane Ida is expected to make landfall in Louisiana Sunday as a Category 3 Hurricane, bringing deadly weather conditions as it crosses over Southern Louisiana.

The National Hurricane Center says Ida is showing hallmarks of a rare, rapidly intensifying storm that could speed across warm Gulf waters and slam into Louisiana as a major hurricane on Sunday.

Preparations have begun across the state as parish officials and residents scramble to get ready ahead of the storm.
