2021 Range Rover Velar P400e plug-in hybrid review: The best luxury PHEV? - YesAuto

The Range Rover Velar has recently received a series of updates, but the biggest new is the addition of a Velar PHEV or plug-in hybrid. The P440e is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol enginege and a 17.1kWh battery. Total output is an impressive 398bhp and 640Nm of torque. 0-62mph take just 5.4 seconds.

It's pretty quick for a luxury SUV, but it also claims 130mpg and an EV range of up to 33 miles. A rapid charge will get it from 0-80% battery in 30 minutes, or the same on a 7kW wallbox takes 1 hour 40 minutes.

It's as plush inside as you'd expect, and new tech such as the updated Pivi Pro 12-inch infotainment system features. Boot space is a strong 625 litres.

Just because this new Range Rover Velar has a battery doesn't mean it can't go off-road. It still proves very capable when hitting the mud.
