Collecting and eating candy is one of Halloween’s biggest attractions. There’s no sugar high like a Halloween sugar high. Dumping out your sack of loot at the end of the night and sorting it all out on the floor is a once-a-year thrill. Salem, Massachusetts is a Halloween travel destination and conveniently *also* home to America’s oldest candy company. Ye Olde Pepper Companie was founded in 1806 and they’ve been selling sweet treats ever since. You can still buy the original old fashioned candy that started it all: gibralters. You can also find salt water taffy, one of my personal favourites.
