Video Shows Woman ClȺsh With TC Over Ticket On Defunct Indian Railways UTS App

At Virar Railway Station, a video showing a woman passenger arguing with a Ticket Checker (TC) over a digital ticket has gone viral. The passenger claimed her ticket was on the now-defunct UTS on Mobile, which had stopped functioning, and said she had already shown it to another TC. The TC insisted she show a valid ticket when asked.

👉🏽 As the dispute escalated, railway police were called to intervene. The incident comes amid confusion after Indian Railways discontinued the UTS app and directed users to switch to RailOne.

Viral Argument At Station
👉🏽 The confrontation reportedly began when the TC asked the passenger to display her ticket. In the video, the woman insists she had already shown it earlier and questioned why she must show it repeatedly. She also says the app was not working and she was in a hurry to catch her train. Railway police were seen attempting to calm the situation and requesting her to show proof of travel.

App Transition Sparks Confusion
👉🏽 The incident surfaced shortly after the UTS app was discontinued from March 1. The app had earlier notified users to switch to RailOne for improved services. Social media reactions were mixed—while many users argued passengers must show tickets whenever asked, others felt railway staff should assist travellers facing technical glitches.

⚡⚡ How should authorities and passengers handle such situations when digital ticketing systems suddenly stop working?
