Deserving peace

We consistently go wrong when thinking spiritual fruits are acquired by adjusting outer conditions e.g. that feeding the hungry, inoculating against disease etc. brings peace. But does it? Do we ever find what we're really searching for like that? Do our worldly heavens last? Life experience teaches otherwise. The real Kingdom of Heaven has nothing whatever to do with worldly circumstances. Life itself gradually disillusions us from such idols - ideals taken as a substitute for God.
