Helicopter Commercial Solo - Busy Air Traffic

My name is Ian and this is part of a series documenting my helicopter training in the Robinson R-22. Follow along as I go from zero experience to flight instructor. Today's flight is just a solo flight around town to build hours towards my commercial license.

There's some weather rolling in from the west, so I try and get a quick hour flight in before the rain hits. On the way back into Georgetown, the traffic pattern gets extremely busy to the point where I had to stay out of the Class Delta until they had an opening for me and then land on a taxiway out of the way of the main runway.
