Hot Chocolate - WHAT KINDA BOY YOU'RE LOOKIN' FOR ( GIRL ) . This is the A - side vinyl version of the song which was released in 1983 . It was written by Errol Brown and produced by Mickie Most . It reached #10 in the UK charts and #4 in the Irish charts. The band have the distinction of being the only band and one of only three acts to have had a Hit in every year of the seventies in the UK charts , Elvis Presley and Diana Ross being the other two . However they only managed to have one #1 Hit ( surprisingly ) as a group with their single SO YOU WIN AGAIN which was released in 1977 . YOU SEXY THING ( 1975 ) and NO DOUBT ABOUT IT ( 1980 ) both reached #2 .
