Readiness Testing: Engineering for Vibe Coders

Most vibe-coded apps only test the happy path.

You run it locally, click through a few flows, and everything looks good.

But that is not real usage.

Real users do unexpected things.
They send bad data.
They hit your system at the same time.
They trigger edge cases you never tested.

And your system breaks, not because the code is wrong, but because it was never tested under real conditions.

That is what readiness testing is about.

It is not just “does it work.”
It is “does it still work under load, with real data, and when things fail.”

If you are using serverless or AI, this matters even more because of timeouts, latency, and unpredictable behavior.

If you only test for success, your first real users will test failure for you.
