Kickout, a Brookfield-based teen rock band formed last summer by Riverside Brookfield High School students Jake Loiacono, Aidan Diaz, Isaiah Griffin, Charlie Rodis and Mateo Dominguez, has turned heads in local digital spaces after a police-ordered halt to an after-hours jam at S.E. Gross Middle School. The group formed in a school rock-band class and six-man band club, drawing inspiration from classic acts and family support. After a parade gig led to a block-party offer, they began playing publicly but have faced noise complaints; officers sometimes attend performances and have even requested information. A Change.org petition, initiated by Loiacono’s mother, has gathered about 1,100 signatures urging Brookfield and District 95 officials to allow the band to perform on district property or elsewhere. Superintendent Ryan Evans says district policy forbids unsanctioned amplified performances on school property, citing safety and community impact. Despite setbacks, the band remains committed to making music today.
