A tree-mendously hot ☀️afternoon with the elephants after a swim💦🐘☀️💦

Thank goodness for trees! Not only do they provide much-needed shade from the heat of African sun, but they are also great extra large scratch poles for our extra-large pachyderm friends!🐘🐘🐘

This video was taken after some of the elephants had finished swimming. (Fishan, Bubi, Somopane and Zindoga decided to carry on swimming).

While swimming and playing by the dam, the elephant's cake themselves in mud which then dries in the sun, when rubbing and scratching against the tree, the dried mud helps to remove bugs and insects which may have been on their skin. So not only is it soothing, but excellent grooming too!

Khanyisa enjoyed a good rub against the tree as well as against some of her big elephant family :-)
