Art plays an important role in our society by helping people express themselves, engage with the world around them and connect with community. Art bears witness to social and cultural traditions and change, which can be shared and understood to help shape a person’s identity, sense of belonging and creative development.
This episode explores the art of belonging with two inspiring community- Bashar Hanna OAM, an Arts and Community Development Consultant and Community Fellow at Western Sydney University, and Aseel Tayah, an artist, creative director and cultural leader at Bukjeh and Homesafe.
