The Stock of Meta Platforms $META has experienced a true rollercoaster ride over the last 1.5 years. The stock of Meta / Facebook declined as much as 76% from its previous peak, before more than doubling from the bottom in November. And Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook, reported its annual results recently / Q4 earnings. And while there were many super interesting data points in Meta's report, one number stood out and is arguably the most important stat that Meta investors need to be aware of. So in this video we will unpack this part of Meta's 2022 earnings report.

Alright hey there, my name is René Sellmann and you are probably well aware of the fact that the US Big Tech companies, Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Apple and Amazon, reported earnings a couple of days ago. In this video we’ll focus on Meta whose stock was soaring the day after Meta’s Q4 results and ended the day up 23%, the best daily performance of Meta's stock in nearly a decade.

And while there a lot of things to unpack here and I might do another video on the other key highlights, one number stood out. Meta wrote in their earnings release: “In the fourth quarter of 2022, ad impressions delivered across our Family of Apps increased by 23% year-over-year and the average price per ad decreased by 22% year-over-year. For the full year 2022, ad impressions increased by 18% year-over-year and the average price per ad decreased by 16% year-over-year.”

These are arguably the most important KPIs for Meta: Usage which translates into ad impressions and Ad efficacy which translates into ad pricing.
