Making the cubist painting “Thought Bubbles” oil on canvas, surrealism, symbolism

It took me an extra long time to finish this painting (about twice as much as I usually spend on an artwork) thanks to the thing called mood swings. Those differences in the mood and the states of mind affected the painting style in various painting sessions. I started to work in a kind of wiggly/roundy style, then in the 4th stage (the footage is missing due to camera issues) I painted the lady in squary/liny style. That’s when I noticed the difference. I wasn't happy with the clash of styles and tried to bring the artwork toward a uniform look. Which pretty much meant repainting the whole thing.

The video was created using a time-lapse method, 1 shot per 15 sec. Video rendered at 30 FPS.
In the 1st stage of making the artwork I improvised a few shapes and colors directly on canvas. In the 2nd through the 6th stages, I was painting and repainting until I was satisfied with the overall appearance. During the 7th and final stage I did highlight and sharpen multiple areas of the painting and further improved the overall look of the artwork.
