Green Avocados (Original)

My first original to emerge from a project I began late last year, 2018. This is basically the form of a new song I would introduce to band mates. In this case it turns out to be a 4 piece arrangement featuring one of my first takes on vocals...

One might ask what Green Avocados is about (lyrically), and I would have to answer that it is a general representation of the chaos within the media. Breaking news, bombshells, TV video drama...the world's gonna end tomorrow if you let yourself fall into that trap. Make and take time for yourself and your loved ones. The name Green Avocados itself - there is no intended relation to the song Green Onions by Booker T & the MG's. Green Avocados is sort of a representation of a song, or songs, getting ready to ripen.

Musically, Green Avocados represents a return to my youth and trying to recapture the feelings I had when learning to first play. The beginning. With as much music that I've heard and played since the early to mid 70's, it was critically important to come up with something as unique as possible...without going into the extreme.

I once took a job based on an ad which read, "Looking for employees I can beat half to death for a better than average wage in the entertainment industry."

The vocal work I have ahead is more what I had in mind than that particular job...
