How to: Remove Timing Belt Honda Civic 97 - 99

Remove timing belt on a 1997 - 1999 honda civic. Covers removing valve cover, all belts, crank shaft pully, and timing covers, When in doubt, read the service manual. The manual is free online.

Important notes!
The crank shaft pully is not reverse thread.
When you remove the the crank pully bolt, do not lose the pin that holds the pully from slipping.
Dont forget to apply tension to the belt using the tensioner procedure.

Wired fact...
While changing the timing belt, the distibutor went out. This may have been a side effect of tack welding a stud to the hub. Still weird.

Side note:
In case your wondering what happen to the belt for it to split in half... the bottom half of the timing belt cover broke. The gasket got tangled, and folded the belt. After a few months, the belt split.
