Short lived Maytag Malory timer with a leaf spring escapement
The 2-1530 (non suds) and 2-1531 (suds) Malory timers were used on TOL Maytags from September 1958 thru October 1960.
This short lived timer was superseded with the previous modular escapement version of the same timer, the 2-1166 and 2-1230, with both versions of escapements being used concurrently during the same period.
I have no idea why Maytag or Malory provided this timer besides possibly using it for extended field testing, beyond calling it a prototype. This is the only one I’ve come across.
Nothing fancy in the video besides showing how the leaf is engaged by a two sided cam to move the timer cams forward an increment.
