It holds deep religious significance to Hindus, and Sadhus gather from all over India, to the Ganges aka Ganga, to bath in the river on the last day, witnessed by millions of people, who also bath in the river. 2010 estimated 10 million people bathed in the Ganges River on April 14th, and from January 14th to April 28th, they estimated 40 million people had bathed in the river.
