China’s wedding industry is on the road to financial recovery. Pent-up demand for weddings caused by the coronavirus pandemic, combined with the country’s traditional peak wedding season, led to an increase in people tying the knot in May 2021. Chinese state media reported that more than 400,000 couples were married during the five-day Labour Day holiday from May 1 to May 5.
