Soaring Inside Perlan 2 for a Record Altitude

Perlan Project Co-Pilot Tim Gardner made this 3 minute video of soaring inside the pressurized high altitude Perlan 2 on September 2, 2018 as they broke the previous record claim. Any vocal is inside the masks on intercom. Note the frost on windows and hatch. We have two independent High Altitude Flight Recorder LX-9000 flight computers with altitudes, moving map, and attitude information. At this altitude the true airspeed is almost 4 times the indicated. The upper round vario displays climb rate and altitude data from the rear LX-9000. The lower vario displays the airspeed from the front cockpit. The mounted tablet on the left displays video from a Garmin 360 Virb tail camera for increased situational awareness in the visually limited Perlan 2. The screen on the right shows the status of all Life Support Systems Display. The handheld tablet shows SkySight weather forecast with track. No music so you get the feel of the cockpit.
