Wholesome, delicious, and packed with protein – these Paneer Besan Chillas are the perfect snack to satisfy your cravings! 🌱🧀

Ingredients:

For the Chilla Batter:

1 cup besan (gram flour)
1/2 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 cup carrots
1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1-2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
Water (for making the batter)

For Cooking:

1-2 teaspoons oil or ghee (clarified butter) for frying

Instructions:

Prepare the Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, add the besan (gram flour).
Add grated paneer, chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies (optional),red chili powder, cumin powder,and salt.
Mix all the dry ingredients well.
Gradually add water, little by little, to form a smooth, thick batter. The consistency should be similar to pancake or dosa batter – not too runny, but spreadable.
Stir in the chopped coriander leaves.

Cook the Chilla:
Heat a non-stick pan or tawa on medium heat. Once hot, lightly grease it with a little oil or ghee.
Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it gently to form a round shape (like a pancake).
Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden and crispy. Flip the chilla carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side until crisp and golden brown.
You can press the edges gently with a spatula to help it cook
