How to Rodeo Backflip on a Snowboard

A rodeo backflip is a great trick to try once you start landing your first inverts on a snowboard. You don't need a big jump to learn them, and the rotation actually comes around quite naturally once you're ready to commit to the trick. A rodeo is basically the combination of a backside 180 and a barrel roll backflip, and the goal is to get a fluid rotation where the two tricks sort of merge together creating a corked look. This trick gives you lots of pop on the takeoff and can be harsh on your ankles when you take it to larger jumps, so dial it in starting small and work your way up to bigger gaps. This was one of the first flips I learned on my snowboard and is still one of my favorite looking rotations. Have fun out there trying your first rodeo, and thanks for watching.
