Skier Hiking in the Mountains - Watercolour Painting Time-lapse Ethereal Clouds

This painting was a commission of a skier hiking in the back country. I changed the angle of the arms and poles slightly to make it look like the skier was in stride.

The sky was the biggest challenge but by thoroughly wetting the paper first I was able to work wet in wet slowly building up the clouds. I'm using 300lb Arches cold press paper which absorbs a lot of water and allows me to play for quite a while. Once it starts to dry it's time to move on but the sky stayed wet the whole time I was painting so that worked out great.
