There Is No Enlightenment, Only "Enlightenments"
In this discourse, Amir Mourad clarifies his understanding of "enlightenment". He explains that it is a mistake to think of there being a singular phenomenon called enlightenment. There are instead many depths and degrees being integrated in realisation. He presents this understanding from several angles, such as the shortcomings of traditional approaches such as bhakti yoga (union through devotion). He explains that if we do use the word "enlightenment", it should not be with the mindset that this is some universal standard for how far reaching insight and realisation can become.
Please note that, not mentioned in the discourse, what is explored here is only related to jivanmukti, living liberation while in the body. It is not a denial of viveha mukti, liberation beyond the body.
