PC Gamers PLEASE Stop Doing This
If you have an Nvidia GPU These are the settings you absolutely must use to get a better gaming experience, and one you need to avoid.

First Make sure you download RTSS which comes with MSI afterburner.

Next open up RTSS, enable start with Windows, and set a framerate limit to 4fps below your max refresh rate if you have a freesync or gsync panel. Now in the past people have used the Nvidia control panel to set a max framerate, but Please Stop Doing This because it's far worse than RTSS.

And while were in the Nvidia control panel if your GPU is consistently at 95-100% usage I turn Low Latency mode to Ultra. And finally if you are still getting screen tearing, turn on Vsync.

These are the best settings I have found for getting a great smooth gaming experience on an Nvidia GPU with a Gsync or Freesync display.
