Formed in 1962/3 The Bystanders were a band from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales , UK who released a string of singles from 1966 to 1968 including their original version of Jesamine which became a worldwide smash hit for The Casuals in 1968 but which 6 months earlier had failed to chart for The Bystanders . Their only chart success was a minor hit single with 98.6 . They split in 1968.
