Candy To Me - Martin Raynor & The Secrets ( Clifford T Ward )

Formed in 1962 as Cliff & The Cruisers ( with Clifford T Ward as lead singer ) the band secured a record deal in 1965 . However to avoid confusion with Dave Berry & The Cruisers they changed their name to Martin Raynor & The Secrets and released the single Cry To Me ( a cover of a Motown song ) . It didnt chart.
They subsequently became The Secrets and later Simon`s Secrets and released a handful of further singles but none charted.
The band`s chief songwriter and lead singer went on to achieve solo fame in the 70`s.
